Munira Hoosain is a current Masters student at the University of Cape Town and SAAO, researching how galaxy evolution is affected by environment. Her Masters dissertation looks at how the Cosmic Web affects the gas properties of galaxies using observational data. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCT and her Honours through the National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme. In addition to her research, she has worked as an intern at the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development and spends a lot of time thinking about how to best use science to serve society.
In her free time, Munira is an avid reader and writer.
